Avi Cohen has a captivating life story. The boy and his family immigrated from Egypt directly to the Land of Israel at the outbreak of the Holy War, in 1956. At first, the family settled in Acre and after a period of searching for a permanent place, they chose Jaffa, in the immigrant neighborhood. In fact, from this moment on, his quest to conquer his place in Israeli football and his unique breakthrough began – the first Israeli football player to be purchased by a prestigious football club – the English Liverpool team.
